Fiber Optic Splice Closure

Fiber Optic

Introduction of Fiber Optic Splice Closure

Fiber Optical Splice Closure is also called Fiber Optical Splice box or fiber optic junction box. It is attributed to the mechanical pressure sealing joint system, and is a continuous protection device for supplying optical, sealing, and mechanical strength continuity between adjacent optical cables. The optical cable Splice box is suitable for the straight-through and branch connection of the overhead, pipeline, direct burial, and other laying methods of various layout optical cables.

Types of Fiber Optic Splice Closure/Junction Box

What is Fiber Optic Splice Closure

Fiber optic splice closure is also called fiber optical splice box. Fiber optic splice closure is attributed to the mechanical pressure sealing joint system, and is a continuous protection device for supplying optical, sealing and mechanical strength continuity between adjacent optical cables. The fiber optic splice closure is suitable for the straight-through and branch connection of the overhead, pipeline, direct burial and other laying methods of various layout fiber optical cables.

The body of fiber optic splice closure is made of imported reinforced plastic, which has high strength and corrosion resistance. The fiber optic splice closure is suitable for the connection in the terminal room of the layout optical cable. The optical cable layout is sophisticated, the seal is firm and the construction is convenient. Fiber optic splice closure is widely used in communication, network systems, CATV cable TV, optical cable network systems, and so on.

Classification of Fiber Optic Splice Closure

Horizontal Type Fiber Optic Closure

Horizontal fiber optic splice closures, also known as in-line fiber optic splice closures, are rectangular-shaped enclosures designed for horizontal installations. They provide protection and organization for fiber splicing in underground, buried, or direct burial applications. Inside the fiber optic splice closures, there are fiber splice trays that hold and protect the fiber splices, providing mechanical and environmental protection. Horizontal closures often have multiple entry and exit ports to accommodate multiple fiber optic cables.

Fiber Splice Trays

Vertical Type Fiber Optic Closure

Vertical fiber optic splice closures, also known as dome fiber optic splice closures, are cylindrical or rectangular-shaped enclosures designed for vertical installations. They provide protection and organization for fiber splicing in outdoor environments, such as along utility poles or on building exteriors. Like horizontal fiber optic splice closures, they feature optical cable entry ports and sealing mechanisms. To ensure proper sealing, the dome fiber optic splice closures has mechanical sealing and heat shrink sealing to effectively protect against moisture and other environmental factors. Inside the fiber optic splice closure, there is fiber optic trays that hold and protect the fiber splices, ensuring their stability and preventing damage. Vertical fiber optic splice closures may have additional features like strain relief elements to secure the fiber optic cables and protect them from excessive tension.
