The 200G QSFP-DD optical transceiver is referred to as "double-density" because it supports double the number of high-speed electrical interfaces compared to standard QSFP28 optical transceiver. QSFP-DD optical transceiver can support data rates of up to 25Gx8 (channels) using NRZ modulation technology, enabling 200G network transmission.
In terms of capacity, QSFP-DD optical transceiver can support 400Gbps, while QSFP56 optical transceiver are limited to 200Gbps. Therefore, the QSFP56 optical transceiver package form is more commonly used for 200G optical transceiver. The choice between the two depends on factors such as compatibility requirements and desired port density in the networking infrastructure.
