Various Jacket Material of MPO|MTP Cable, Meet Your Need

When looking at the construction of any fiber optic patch cord, the jacket of MPO|MTP patchcord is the first line of defense against physical damage from chemicals, water, burning and other potentially damaging effects that would compromise the viability of the cable. The MPO|MTP patchcord’s outer jacket serves as a protective layer for the cable, providing fire resistance and moisture resistance. UnitekFiber provides LSZH, PVC, PVC-OFNR, PVC-OFNP type of cable jacket, ensuring that whether the MPO|MTP fiber patch cord using in indoors or outdoors, it could be meet the usage requirements to extend the service life of the fiber optic jumper and prevent the data transmission function from declining.

What is the difference between MTP and MPO?

The interface of MTP and MPO is the same, but the internal spring structure is different; MPO is a circle, and MTP is an ellipse. The elliptical guide pin improves the accuracy of the mating and reduces wear on the guide hole, allowing the MTP fiber optic connector to maintain high-performance transmission for longer. So MTP is superior to MPO and can completely replace MPO.

What does 4x24C mean in the 4x24C MPO cable specification?

4x24C indicates that the cable consists of 4 independent 24-core fiber bundles. Each bundle is terminated with an MPO connector, resulting in a total of 96 optical fibers (4 bundles*24 cores) for high-density data transmission.

Why is this MPO cable marked as Plenum PVC? What is the significance of the plenum rating?

Plenum refers to the cable's compliance with fire safety standards for plenum spaces (air-handling ducts or enclosed spaces used for environmental air circulation) in commercial buildings.

What is the total number of fibers in this MPO cable, and how is it distributed?

We could customized the fiber according to your required such as 48/96/144 or ect.

What data rates and transmission distances does this 96-core OM4 MPO cable support?

It supports various high-speed protocols, including: 10G Ethernet (up to 400m), 40G Ethernet (up to 150m), 100G Ethernet (up to 150m), and 400G Ethernet (up to 100m) at 850 nm. The exact distance may vary slightly depending on the network equipment and operating environment.
